Did you know that King Henry 3rd passed a Law stating it was an offence punishable by death to either kill or maim a fairy!
This is one of many Old Laws created in England going all the way back to Saxon times when Common Law began to be established. Common Law is basically a series of acts and punishments that became common practise until it was eventually deemed to be the Law. Many of our Old Laws are still on the Statute books and indeed during my time as a holder of the Office Of Police Constable I have used some of these Laws to bring ne'er do wells to justice, however I never managed to arrest someone for attacking a fairy!
Be mindful that no fairies were injured or worse during the making of this blog post!
