It seems to me that with the evolving of each generation the previous generation seem to think the new lot have lowered the 'high standards' they believe they conducted themselves by. They give the impression that they never ever had a potty mouth and said anything that could be offensive, however, History teaches us different.

Anyone found guilty of cursing or swearing shall be punished as follows. 

An everyday common labourer, common soldier, common sailor and common seaman,            1 shilling

For every other person under the degree of Gentleman, 2 shillings

For every person of or above the degree of Gentleman 5 shillings
