What Do We Do With Witches? - Ordinance Of Elizabeth I
Any Woman leading a man into marriage through the use of false hair, make-up, false hips, high heeled shoes, or other such devices, shall be punished with the penalties as Witchcraft.
Ordinance of Elizabeth I
This seems a bit harsh and it's coming from a woman who from the paintings we see quite literally piled the slap on. It not only shows historically the hypocritical way of those in power when ruling over their subjects, but this was the mindset dominant at the time.
To consider a woman a Witch for enhancing her natural features seems to reveal the inner thinking of someone who was 'turned down' more than once.
